Help Us Support Pets in Ukraine

We're helping any way we can. Help up donate to pets in Ukraine and you could win a gorgeous thank you gift from us!

While conflict is raging in Ukraine, we are all desperate to help wherever we can. With the situation dire for so many people, all of our thoughts and wishes go to those affected by the conflict. There is so much that we wish we could do, but we must instead settle for doing what we can.

We’ve been grateful to be able to support WOSP Kilkenny and Husky Rescue Ireland as their team and volunteers have travelled to Ukraine bringing supplies and aid from right here at home. We hope that the dog food we could provide for these animals will help make the journeys these animals will need to undertake just a little more comfortable.

With this in mind, we’ve been thinking a lot about our Irish pride, with the month that’s in it. While we usually love a chance to celebrate our local suppliers, local artists and craftspeople, this year we wanted to celebrate the generosity of our nation. We think that there’s no better way to show Irish pride than by extending our hands to others, so that we can truly be proud of ourselves.

That’s why we’ve decided this St. Patrick’s Day to turn our focus to our neighbours in Ukraine and do what we can to support a worthy charity working with animals and people displaced in Ukraine. DIOZ is a Polish charity who have been on the ground in Ukraine since day 2 of this conflict. They’ve been working tirelessly to feed, rehome, move, and shelter pets in dire circumstances.

We want to help them with their task. Until March 21st, we hope to encourage you to donate to Dioz through the link which can also be found in our bio on Instagram. (https://www.facebook.com/DIOZpl)

Donate what you can, screenshot the donation screen, and send it back to us for your chance to win one of several treat packs for your pet – just our way of saying thanks for standing with us and Ukraine.

We will be matching donations up to €1000.

For more information, check out our social channels or get in touch with us. We’re proud to be able to help, even in a small way, and hope you will join us so our pride can grow.

Common Questions About Grooming Dogs

It’s best to groom your dog daily, especially if they have long fur or are prone to shedding. Regular grooming helps manage shedding, prevent matting, and keep their coat healthy.

No, human shampoo can irritate your dog’s skin. Always use a dog-specific hypoallergenic shampoo to keep their skin healthy.

Start with short grooming sessions, use a grooming mitt instead of a brush, and reward your dog with treats. If necessary, consider using a calming supplement to help them relax.

Shaving your dog is generally not recommended unless it’s for medical reasons, as it can lead to sunburn and skin damage. If your dog’s coat is matted or they have a skin condition, consult a professional groomer.

There are various flea and tick treatments available, including topical treatments, oral medications, and collars. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best option for your dog.
