Our Visit to ASH Animal Rescue
Bye bye, January blues! We were happy to shake them off and instead venture into the beautiful surroundings of County Wicklow to pay a visit to some good friends.
Last week, Nicola and our intrepid photographer Anthony Woods paid a visit to ASH Animal Rescue where they met with Helena, Remi, and Eva, along with a host of furry friends.
This January and February, for every purchase of Leader, Go Native, Engage, and Winner dog food made in participating stores in the Republic of Ireland, we will donate a delicious meal of Winner to a shelter dog! We’re been lucky enough to partner with some superstar charities around Ireland for these months, and it’s been a huge privilege.
Our visit to ASH was such a pleasure, as Remi, Helena, and Eva took the time to show us how they do things at ASH and introduced us to some of the local characters!
ASH Animal Rescue is a non-profit organisation and is based in Rathdangan, Co.Wicklow. Since 1990 they have taken in hundreds of unwanted dogs and cats and a variety of other animals. They spend our lives doing our very best caring for them, rehabilitating some and looking for loving homes for those that can be homed.
ASH is a no-kill shelter, which means that some residents of ASH will live there for their whole lives, and be loved and cared for right there on the premises. ASH does amazing work all year-round to look after these animals and give them a high quality of life. Their care and attention to details is clear as soon as you arrive and are greeted by the warm and experienced staff of ASH.
We were lucky enough to meet an amazing cast of characters from big to small – from Jaws the chihuahua (yes, really!) to Kevin Bacon, the aptly named resident hog!
ASH welcomes visitors by appointment only 6 days a week. If you’re interested in visiting, you can email Helena at email@example.com and providing your contact number there.
You can learn more about ASH here, and take part in our charity project by simply purchasing your favourite pet food in January and February.
Don’t forget, you can also donate via Instagram, too! To donate a meal to a rescue dog*, post a photo of your pet to your profile and use the caption #FeedARescueWithRedMills for your entry to be counted, and help us feed more dogs!
*Terms and conditions apply. One entry per person. Entrants must be resident in the Republic of Ireland.
