Our Weekend at Pups in the Park!

Our Weekend at Pups in the Park!

The May Bank Holiday might have been a little rainy, but nothing could dampen our spirits! We had such an amazing weekend meeting gorgeous pooches and their fabulous owners at Malahide Castle and Gardens and boy, did we learn a lot!

It was such a joy to be able to welcome so many of you to our Leader tent where your pups were able to avail themselves of our big surprise – a Pick ‘n Mix, just for pups, all crammed with treats to have them coming back for more (and boy, did they come back for more!!). It was a great chance to meet with our team, get your nutrition questions answered by our expert team, and check out some of our enviable merch – honestly, it’s a miracle any of us managed to make it out of the pavilion without being laden down with a Teddy Maximus bag in every. Single. Colour.

Our Leader playground was the happening spot to make new furry friends and try your tricks against the other doggos who were experimenting with our puissance jumps, our hoops and Leader drawbridge. From our playground, you had a great view of the Leader Main Arena, where you could see amazing demonstrations by Matty Lambden with Tamrose Labradors, the amazing K9 Mountain Search and Rescue team, and even a real-life sheep herding demo!

Over on the Talk Stage, we heard amazing information from Pete Wedderburn, vet extrordinaire, and our very own Vicki Rhodes, too, to name but a few amazing presentations. With an Agility Course, Hay Bale Race, Puppy Academy, and plenty of areas for dogs to run and explore off lead in a safe environment, there was something for everyone. Things heated up in the Competition Corner, where good boys and girls won fabulous prizes all day long on both days, which was a real joy to witness!

A serious amount of retail therapy was going on, with happy owners and suitably delighted dogs as far as the eye could see!

We know we can’t wait for next time!

FAQ

Common Questions About Grooming Dogs

It’s best to groom your dog daily, especially if they have long fur or are prone to shedding. Regular grooming helps manage shedding, prevent matting, and keep their coat healthy.

No, human shampoo can irritate your dog’s skin. Always use a dog-specific hypoallergenic shampoo to keep their skin healthy.

Start with short grooming sessions, use a grooming mitt instead of a brush, and reward your dog with treats. If necessary, consider using a calming supplement to help them relax.

Shaving your dog is generally not recommended unless it’s for medical reasons, as it can lead to sunburn and skin damage. If your dog’s coat is matted or they have a skin condition, consult a professional groomer.

There are various flea and tick treatments available, including topical treatments, oral medications, and collars. Consult your veterinarian to determine the best option for your dog.

Hi there,
I’d love to take my Mom and her 8th month of Golden Irish Doodle 💛🐾 to the event in the Park.
I really hope I can be in to win too.
Marley-May has never been to Marlay Park and we cannot wait for a fun-filled day out ☀️🐕🌻
