St. Pawtrick's Virtual Dog Show 2021 raises €1,000 to PAWS Animal Rescue

Our St. Pawtrick’s Day Virtual Dog Show was born from the desire to celebrate our national holiday – we’re so proud to be Irish, and particularly in a year where circumstances have meant that we need to stay apart, this seemed like a perfect solution for us to get together and have some craic – albeit virtually!

A huge amount of congratulations are in order for all those who entered our St. Pawtricks Day Virtual Dog Show!

You really went the extra mile and together raised €422 to benefit the amazing work done by PAWS Animal Rescue. We at Connolly’s Red Mills were delighted to be able to double the number and round it up so that together, we’ve contributed €1,000 to PAWS as a result of our competition!

We were so pleased to work with our charity partners, PAWS, on this project. PAWS do incredible work all year round to rehome and care for animals from high-kill shelters, or whose families could no longer care for them. Their cause is very close to our hearts in Red Mills, which is why we partner with PAWS to feed all of their rescue dogs from our Leader Dog Food range, to keep them strong and healthy and ready for their new lives with great families!

Our competition had 119 entries – that was over a hundred dogs for us to enjoy (and even a cow or two, it seemed!), and boy, did we enjoy them. We loved them so much that we had to enlist the help of a seasoned pro to choose our winners, which is where the marvellous Séaghan comes in!

You might recognise Séaghan from his internet fame on Tik Tok under the moniker The Kerry Cowboywhere he’s caught the interest of hundreds of thousands of people with his comedy Tik Toks, his love of the Irish language, and his constant companion Braindí the working dog!

Everyone got to work voting for their favourite dogs, and we ended up with an impressive array of finalists!

Séaghan was good enough to judge all of the dogs, and after a huge amount of deliberation and some serious amount of spot prizes, Séaghan went live on Saturday the 27th of March on our Instagram to announce the lucky winners! (watch it here)
