If you’re like most people and plan to spend this Valentine’s Day like everyone else, then you’ve come to the wrong place. We want to help you and your significant other #Ditchtheflowers this year and step up your V-day plans with these alternative Valentine’s Day gifts.
Here are 8 reasons why flowers just aren’t cutting it anymore.
1. They are boring and unoriginal.
Flowers have been done a million times and they are impersonal. Show them how much you care with a gift that has been chosen with them in mind. Why not surprise you significant other with this gorgeous King Louie coat. The Robin coat is far from boring, and it will keep you loved one warm and cosy all year round.
2. Why buy them if they are just going to die..
Sadly, flowers die after a couple days, so give a gift you know they will have for a lifetime like a stunning piece of jewellery. The Cluster Pendant in gold from Vanessa Ree will be treasured by your special someone for years to come.
3. You can't show it off...
Flowers are stunning but you can’t bring them out and about and show them off! The Fairfax & Favor Tetbury Leather Tote bag can be used and shown off all the other 364 days of the year and the gorgeous tan colour ensures it goes with any outfit.
4. It doesn’t scream romance, we can buy own flowers so where is the grand romantic gesture, the surprise.
Flowers, while beautiful, may not have the same romantic impact as a more unique gift, such as a love letter, a special experience, or a sentimental keepsake. This Rose Quartz honeycomb cut Pendant from Spirit Jewellery will make the ultimate romantic gesture. Rose quartz is known as the crystal of unconditional love. It is said to boost feelings of self-love and foster loving relationships with others.
5. It is so expensive...
Surprisingly, flowers can be quite expense and they are not very budget friendly. Whereas a scarf is a wonderful budget friendly gifting option while also being a gorgeous gift to receive. A scarf is a perfect gift that can be used time and time again.
6.You can get them flowers like literally any other day....
You can give someone flowers any day of the week, month, year. Valentine’s day doesn’t hold the rights on flowers, surprise someone in May or September with a boutique of gorgeous flowers.
7.It is eco-unfriendly...
Like we said above, flowers don’t last very long making them not eco-friendly. What is environmentally friendly is this gorgeous Camlodge Quilted Jacket in current from Dubarry which is made sustainably with a 100% recycled polyester outer shell fabric. Is also available in Olive.
8. It’s such a cliché and commercialised.
Don’t be a cliché. Flowers are basic and have been done a million times, surprise you special someone this Valentines Day with a gift is perfect for them and only them.
What they really want is.... Well, that’s for you to figure out now. If you do decide to go the flowers route, your sweetheart is probably generous enough to say that they love it and you. Just know that deep down, they will be yearning for a something special. So, save yourself the trouble and do it right the first time.
HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

Excellent message! Commercial flowers have a huge environmental impact – massive energy use for refrigeration during transport, need huge volumes of water and normally in places where water is scarce & not to mention the pesticides damaging biodiversity.
