Inspiration Behind The Product

The Story

Traditional magnetic hock boots just cover the hock joint, but problems associated with this include slipping - which means the magnets are not only in the wrong place, but it could also be uncomfortable for the horse. Our Magnetic Hind and Hock boots are a simple solution to this, going from the ground up to ensure no slipping, and the ability to target the whole lower leg, including the hock.

FAQ

When should I not use magnetic products on my horse?

Do not apply magnets to open wounds, bruises, infection, areas of inflammations or for the first 5 days following steroid injections.

It is not advisable to use magnets on a horse with a heart murmur or in the first trimester of pregnancy for you or your horse! Note: People with heart pacemakers should not carry magnetic products.

How do these magnets work?

The body’s cells have electromagnetic properties which means they can be affected by a magnetic field. The magnets used in Equilibrium's Magnetic Chaps for horses and present two alternating poles to the body, negative and positive, making them different to standard Neodymium magnets, which present only one pole. These strong, linear and permanent magnetic fields of alternating pole sequences penetrate into the body tissue.

How long will the magnets last?

The magnets will not become less efficient over time. Please store away from other magnets.

Can the Magnetic Chaps be worn for turnout?

The Magnetic Chaps should only be worn in the stable and not worn for turnout as the Magnetic Chaps are not designed for outdoor use. Magnets work best when the horse is at rest.

What strength are the magnets?

Equilibrium's magnets have been measured to produce 550 G.

About Equilibrium

It all started when Timmy started frantically headshaking during ridden work shortly after he turned 5 years old. This lead to his owner, Margaret Donnelly, designing the Net Relief Muzzle Net to help him. Word got out about the Muzzle Net and how it helped Timmy and many other horses. Horse & Hound featured it and the phones started to go mad! Who would have thought one person trying to solve a problem with their horse could have such a large impact. From then on, Margaret realised she actually had lots of product ideas – Timmy was a source of inspiration! Fast forward 25 years and Equilibrium are still here with their core message of ‘Making a difference to horses’ lives.
